What

Our board of deacons has begun their annual THANKSGIVING FOOD  AND MONEY DRIVE for the patrons of the Freeport Emergency  Food Pantry.  They are favoring ‘money’ donations this year over ‘food’ donations with the purpose of purchasing grocery store gift cards to be given out to the Pantry’s customers.  The Pantry has enlightened us to the fact that many of their clients have medical issues which require specific food choices and also that many of their clients do not celebrate the typical ‘turkey’ Thanksgiving.  Nonetheless, we will, of course, accept any food items that are donated.    Thank you in advance.  NOVEMBER 18 WILL BE    THE LAST DAY TO CONTRIBUTE.

Bible study classes are winding down.  Join Pastor Moira for the remainder of the six-week course exploring The Great Themes of the Bible.  The 5th class is November 6 at FPC at 5PM and November 7 at 10:30AM at CPC.  The 6th and final class will be December 4 at 5 PM at FPC and December 5 at 123 Noon at CPC.  Don't miss this interesting and inspiring course!

AL LEWIS INDUCTED INTO HALL OF FAME

On October 22, The Brooklyn USA Athletic Association will be inducting our own Al Lewis into their Hall of Fame.  Al was an all-star basketball player at Brooklyn"s Franklin K. Lane HS.  He went on to attend Kansas University on a basketball scholarship.  Among others being inducted are Lou Carnescca, retired St. John's University basketball coach and Dr. Solly Walker, who was the first black basketball star to play at St. John's University.  Please join us in congratulating Al Lewis on receiving this distinguished award!
